The Benelux region, which is managed through the Amsterdam office, has grown significantly over the last few years to be the nr 2 chilled juice and smoothie brand in both the Netherlands and Belgium.

Currently innocent is the key growth player in the Dutch chilled juice category and it is our ambition to accelerate this growth to become the brand leader in this category. Therefore we would like to add an experienced but above all driven sales expert to accelerate our growth in retail. To support this growth, we are looking for a brilliant:

ACCOUNT GROUP MANAGER

POSITION

In this position you will be responsible for the full grocery market and Field Sales Force, giving you the opportunity to have a lot of internal visibility and recognition if they deliver the doughnuts. You will be directly managing our biggest retail customers including oodles of cross-functional working (with our Category, Shopper Marketing, Finance and Customer Supply teams) and as much creativity as you can muster. Also will you be responsible for managing the sales account assistant and grocery account manager.

We’re a business that sees huge value in supporting our recommendations and decisions with robust data analysis and insights. This means you’ll get stuck into the detail for your account, understanding the forecast, promotional activity and everything else in between. You’ll also be speaking with your customer and visiting them regularly, making it your mission to understand them and their business inside out and to drive sustainable growth for both innocent and the category.

Therefore, we need you to have previous experience and knowledge of managing a National retailer in FMCG so that you have a good grasp of the market, category management and customer marketing principles and have experience of planning and implementing promotions with BTL spend. You’ll be a self-starter who doesn’t wait for direction, comes up with clear concise fact based recommendations and is able to engage, influence and lead internal cross functional teams. A love and mastery of Excel and very strong numerical skills are also towards the top of our list. You will be reporting directly into the Country Manager NL, Menzo de Muinck Keizer.

PROFILE CANDIDATE

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor or academic degree;
  • You already have a complete & successful sales experience in the role of national KAM, in FMCG;
  • HQ experience in retail;
  • You speak Dutch fluently and have proficiency in English.

RELEVANT COMPETENCIES:

  • Commercial experience and acumen with a great grasp of a P&L, investment principles and tracking CC/NR gained through managing a National retailer in FMCG;
  • A passion for selling with the savvy skills of a successful negotiator who’s used to influencing people at a senior level with resilience and tenacity;
  • A proven track record for building and delivering compelling concepts as well as setting and implementing long term plans to deliver key business measures, holding the team/customer accountable for delivery of agreements;
  • Effective communication skills with customer facing experience and the ability to build close relationships with key contacts to create sustainable joint business plans that really deliver;
  • The ability to grapple with meaty problems and present complex solutions in a simple and effective manner – bouncing back in the face of obstacles and finding a solution that works.
