                                                                                      SALES MANAGER NORDICS

POSITION

The sales team of the pet division is based in the Netherlands and consists of a commercial director and 3 (region) sales managers (France, BeNeLux and the Nordics). As Sales Manager Nordics you will be responsible mainly to manage the current distributors within the Nordics. Next to that, you will analyze the Nordic channels (grocery, pet specialty and online) and advise the Go to Market strategy moving forward.

You are required to develop and recommend sales and Trade marketing strategies designed to further improve the overall effectiveness of the territory. You will work closely with the following teams: marketing (internal and external), purchasing (external), demand planning and customer service (internal). In addition you will represent the region at internal management meetings. You will report directly to Dennis Vermegen (Sales Director Benelux / France / Nordics as well Managing Director SPB CPG).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Improve distribution, sales volume, market share, shelf visibility, touchpoints, and assortment of the pet care division;
  • Maximize territory potential using effective time and territory management practices;
  • Develop business tactics for both existing and potential customers.
  • Develop and execute customer-specific promotional plans;
  • Deliver effective sales presentations during customer meetings;
  • Prepare for customer visits by analyzing relevant data;
  • Actively attend and participate in trade shows;
  • Work collaboratively with demand planning to provide annual and ongoing customer forecasting for new product concepts, initiatives and annual brand plans;
  • Actively participate in continuous learning. This includes corporately facilitated training meetings, and online courses, as well as independent learning and trade journal reading.

PROFILE CANDIDATE

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor or Master degree (ideally with a Sales focus);
  • Relevant sales experience required in food retailers and distributors;
  • Business acumen (financial/forecasting skills) and computer proficiency;
  • Excellent knowledge of retail structures, DIY/GC, Ecom, agricultural trade, food retail and drugstores;
  • Experience in the Nordics is a welcome plus;
  • Willingness for regular business travel;
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
